Responding to Your Anxiety

Responding to Your Anxiety

Emotions like anxiety are a part of our lives. Our emotions are powerful, but we do not need to let them control and consume us. Learn to understand your anxiety and turn to God for help and hope.

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me

and delivered me from all my fears.”

Psalm 34:4

Anxiety begins with concern. Concern for others allows us to be sympathetic, compassionate, and aware of other people’s needs and how we might minister to them. When we look to meet these needs in our own strength and realize our limitations, we begin to feel anxious realizing we do not have the ability or control needed to bring change. This is God reminding us that we need Him.

Recently I shared the gospel of salvation with a 17 year old. When I asked her what God “knocking” on the door of her heart looked like, she replied, “My anxiety is God letting me know that I need Him.” WELL SAID! Our anxiety should turn our eyes to the one who is in control. We need to take into consideration the love, wisdom and sovereign power of God regarding our circumstances and anxieties.

I was preparing a workshop for the Engage Women’s Conference on Anxiety. Due to COVID-19 our conference was cancelled. My daughter put her loving and gifted touch to my notes for the workshop and I wanted to make them available to all of you. Both downloads are the same information but I wasn’t sure everyone would be able to print the booklet. The Workbook download is a simpler format.

Anxious? I have included several suggestions of verses to commit to memory. Our God is able!
