Youth Group

Lakeside Youth

Our mission is to partner with parents to help students, wherever they are spiritually, to become fully devoted disciples of Christ. We want to help everyone answer the question of Psalm 42:2: “My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. Where can I go to meet God?” We seek to do that through the following ways

  • Reach: establishing a personal relationship with Christ and igniting the passion to share it with others (Matthew 28:18-20, Ephesians 2:8-10)
  • Connect: forming authentic, personal relationships with peers and adults leading to accountability and a love for the church (Acts 2:42-47, Hebrews 10:24-25)
  • Grow: developing a familiarity and deeper understanding of God’s word through gospel-centered teaching and Bible study, leading to obedience that comes through faith (2 Timothy 3:15-17, Romans 1:5)
  • Serve: demonstrating the love of God by serving one another, the church and the community (1 Peter 4:8-10, 1 John 3:16)
  • Honor: loving God, loving people (Matthew 22:36-40, Mark 12:29-31)

What We Do

Middle School Students (6th-8th grades)

Throughout the school year, our middle school students meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:30 pm and are welcome to arrive as early as 6:30 for games or to hang out. Our typical Wednesday starts with a fun activity, followed by a group Bible lesson before we break into small groups for prayer and discussion based on questions from that evening’s lesson.

High School Students (9th-12th grades)

Our high school students meet throughout the school year on Sunday evenings from 7:15-9:15 pm. Our normal high school meetings start with a fun activity followed by a large group lesson and small group time. Students are welcome to stay after youth group for gym activities or just to hang out.

Student Small Groups

We seek for every student to get involved in a small group dedicated to developing caring relationships that help them know Christ better. Small groups are made up of 4 to 9 students of the same age and gender and 1 or 2 adult leaders. These groups also get together throughout the year for group activities planned by their leader.

Other Activities

Summer Camp – A week at Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in Clear Lake, Iowa. (It will be one of the best experiences you ever have!)

Winter Retreats – A weekend at Iowa Regular Baptist Camp of bonding, playing games, having snowball fights, and challenging each other through fellowship and God’s Word.

Group Activities – Activities throughout the school year include bonfires, laser tag, Bible conferences and many small group activities.

Bible Studies – Throughout the year, we offer a number of Bible and book study options for high school students.

Service Opportunities – We emphasize demonstrating God’s love by serving others. We encourage our students to serve both inside and outside the church and offer numerous opportunities for them to do so. You can find more specific information HERE.
