Deb Safley

After a difficult divorce, my relationship with God grew much deeper.

  • Hometown: Recife, Brazil
  • Fun Fact: I am bi-lingual, have loved coffee since I was a little girl, and went to boarding school from 10th-12th grade

My parents were missionaries, and I was born and raised in Brazil. As a young child, I was proud of my Christian/missionary heritage. At the age of 5, I realized that the faith of my grandparents and parents would not save me.

With my mom’s help, I asked Christ to forgive me of my sins and save me! I attended Faith Baptist Bible College and then got married. I had 4 children and was faithful in serving at a local church. After a difficult divorce, my relationship with God grew much deeper. God has answered my prayers and used my challenges to minister to others. In 2015, I married Mike Safley, and together we have 8 children, 5 in-laws, and 10 grandkids! We live on an acreage outside Granger and stay busy serving at Lakeside, chasing our kids around at different activities, listening to live music and trying new restaurants. I love to teach Bible studies, serve in women’s ministries and have a passion for blended families and missions!
