After a difficult divorce, my relationship with God grew much deeper.
- Hometown: Recife, Brazil
- Fun Fact: I am bi-lingual, have loved coffee since I was a little girl, and went to boarding school from 10th-12th grade
My parents were missionaries, and I was born and raised in Brazil. As a young child, I was proud of my Christian/missionary heritage. At the age of 5, I realized that the faith of my grandparents and parents would not save me.
With my mom’s help, I asked Christ to forgive me of my sins and save me! I attended Faith Baptist Bible College and then got married. I had 4 children and was faithful in serving at a local church. After a difficult divorce, my relationship with God grew much deeper. God has answered my prayers and used my challenges to minister to others. In 2015, I married Mike Safley, and together we have 8 children, 3 sons-in-law, and our first granddaughter! We live in Ankeny and stay busy serving at Lakeside, chasing our kids around at different school activities, staying active and trying new restaurants. I love to teach Bible studies, serve in women’s ministries and have a passion for blended families and missions!
