Speaker: Joel Newman
Passage: Exodus 5:1–6:9
Title: Moses Meets Pharaoh
Communication Card
- I will stop hardening my heart toward God and will humbly accept Christ as my Savior right now.
- I will step out of my comfort zone this week to minister to someone in need and trust God for the performance and the results.
Growth Group Questions
- Read Exodus 5:1,2 and describe Pharaoh’s hardened heart. Consider Warren Wiersbe’s definition: “To harden your heart means to see clear evidence of the hand of God at work and still refuse to accept His Word and submit to His will.” Take time as a growth group to pray for those you know who have hardened their hearts. Commit to pray for them every day this week and see how God answers.
- Exodus 6:9 says that “Moses spoke thus (the 7 “I wills” of God) to the people of Israel, but they did not listen to Moses because of their broken spirit and harsh slavery.” What things cause a broken spirit in our lives and what is our harsh slavery?
- In times of doubting God, we must remember all the promises that we have in Christ. Search the Scriptures for God’s promises and write down the ones in which you have rested the most in your life. As a growth group have a time of prayer, praising God for His promises.
